About Title I

Title I

Title I is the largest federally funded reading program.  It services schools and students who are at risk academically due to socioeconomic constraints.  

Participation

Students are selected to receive small group Title I services based on standardized test scores and teacher recommendations.  Parental consent and participation is encouraged.

Instruction

Title I reading instruction is designed o support the classroom reading curriculum.  Students receive additional small group support in the core areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, and oral reading fluency. 

Additional push in support is provided to some classrooms.
