Commitments Sought for Safe Driving

FCCLA members Savannah Shores and Tiffany Antonetti are planning activities and promotion for safe driving at Prairie Central High School.

Prairie Central High School FCCLA is promoting safe driving within the school and community by encouraging drivers of all ages to take pledges to drive safely. The project put on by State Farm entitled “Celebrate My Drive” sends a positive message to celebrate every drive by being a responsible driver.

Starting Wed., Oct. 15 and continuing through the 24th, pledges will be recorded on www.celebratemydrive.com. Begin by registering each of your email addresses. One commitment per each email each day is allowed. Last year the website asked first for our school city rather than school name in the sign-in process. So, be sure to list Fairbury – 61739. Then choose Prairie Central High School. The website gives a couple safe driving questions as a learning tool prior to asking participants to make a pledge for safe driving.

The top 45 schools with the most pledges will receive $25,000! Five grand prize schools will receive $100,000 and the #1 school will receive $100,000 and an on campus concert from The Band Perry. Schools are divided into large and small school categories. Prairie Central falls in the upper end of the small school range.

Please help your local high school and FCCLA in our efforts to keep everyone on the road safe by realizing the importance of being a responsible driver. Take the pledge everyday, with every email in your household.
