Dr. Heather Dameron Herr, 1987. and Lt. Commander Joseph Pica, 1987 were inducted as Charter Members into the Prairie Central High School Hall of Fame at a ceremony in front of the PCHS student body on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 in the High School gymnasium.

 

Dr. Herr attended the University of Illinois in Champaign.  She studied pre-medicine and was a member of the Illini Marching Band.  She gained admittance to the Southern Illinois School of Medicine, where she earned a Doctor of Medicine degree.  Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Herr returned to Fairbury as a family practice physician.  Dr. Herr is the daughter of Lynn and Judy Dameron of Fairbury.

Lt. Commander Pica attended the University of Illinois, Champaign, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering.  He became an officer in the NOAA Corps which operates and manages a fleet of ships and aircraft that support our nation's research activities.  His performance as an officer has earned him several promotions in rank and assignments.  He was recently promoted to Lt. Commander of the ship, GORDON GUNTER.  Lt. Commander Pica is the son of Sam and Ann Pica of Fairbury.
