Welcome to the Prairie Central Music Department website. We are very excited about our music program here at Prairie Central. The quality of our music program is due not only to the dedication of the directors and the support from Prairie Central administration and school board, and the hard work of the students, but also to the involved parents who encourage practice time, drive kids to practices and home from lessons, and attend concerts and other music events. We are fortunate to have this combination here at Prairie Central!

News and Announcements

• Fruit and Nut Sales
     Junior high and high school band and choir students will again be having their nut sale this fall to help raise money for their band and choir trips in high school. Typically the band and choir have traveled to Disney in Florida once every 4 years, and the students can raise money for the cost or their trip by selling fruits and nuts beginning in 7th grade! This is an educational, as well as fun, trip - students usually attend a workshop and perform at Disney.
  
     These are premium quality nuts - great to bake with or eat right out of the bag! Most people will order more the 2nd year than they did the first time around. They also make great gifts for your employees or coworkers or clients. See any junior high or high school band or choir member to order yours today. The sale will run from October 1st through October 20th, and the nuts will arrive during the week before Thanksgiving, just in time for Holiday baking! THANK YOU!

• "I'm With The Band" T-shirts are expected to be handed out to students during 1st block on Friday, October 3rd.
     If you don't have a student in high school band, you can come to the high school band room between 9 and 10am on Friday, Oct. 3rd to pick it up, or the shirt(s) will be sent home with your son or daughter from one of the other schools sometime during the next week.
  
  
• CONGRATULATIONS PC Marching Hawks
     The Prairie Central Marching Hawks began their competition season Saturday, Sept. 13th in Morton by winning the "Best Percussion" in their class, and 2nd place overall in their class in a close finish!
