Daily Announcements: Friday, November 6, 2009

(subject to change)

Attention Seniors:   The Yearbook would like to start collecting your senior photos.  If you have not had your photo taken yet please do so before Christmas break.  Absolutely no photos will be accepted after Christmas break.  Please turn one vertical photo into Miss Graham.

Yearbook order forms will need to be turned into the office or to Miss Graham by Monday, November 9.  No order forms will be accepted after this time.

FCCLA t-shirt and sweatshirts are in.  Please see Mrs. Shier to pick them up.

Mrs. Baci’s class pulled out ahead yesterday in total points for the food drive.  Mr. Ronna and Mrs. Pilgrim’s classes remain close behind.   However, remember, the points still need to be divided by the number of students in the class.  The contest can still be won by and class.  But the real winners will be YOU for helping others, and the RECIPIENTS who benefit from your donations.

Don’t forget items donated for the soldiers count for double points.  If you know of a soldier from the Prairie Central area that is currently serving overseas, please let Mrs. Shier, Zoe Koehl,  Shannon Teubel, Amanda Zimmerman know.  We would like to send the items collected to someone local if possible.

The Food drive continues through Veteran’s Day.

Students who currently have their driver’s license will have the opportunity to sign-up for “Operation Cool” at lunch on Thursday and Friday this week.  The purpose of “Operation Cool” is to promote safe teen driving and the use of safety belts.  If students do not receive any citations from the police over an extended period of time their name will be put into a drawing with other students from Livingston, Dewitt and McLean counties to win a new car or other incentive prizes.

The Fairbury Boys and Girls club is looking for mentors to help students after school.  If you are interested, see Mr. Quinn or contact Nicole Winterland at the Fairbury Boys and Girls club, 815-692-2423.

Varsity Volleyball players please turn in your volleyball bags and jersey to Mrs. Beihl

Today’s Lunch Menu:  Cheese Tortellini/Meat sauce, garlic bread, tossed lettuce salad, chilled pears.  Ala Carte:  Pizza Puffs.
