Welcome to the Prairie Central Music Department website. We are very excited about our music program here at Prairie Central. The quality of our music program is due not only to the dedication of the directors and the support from Prairie Central administration and school board, and the hard work of the students, but also to the involved parents who encourage practice time, drive kids to practices and home from lessons, and attend concerts and other music events. We are fortunate to have this combination here at Prairie Central!

News and Announcements

• Congratulations PC Marching Hawks!
     The Prairie Central Marching Hawks received 3rd in Class AA in field show, and the percussion and drum majors also received 3rd place in class AA. Congratulations on a job well done this season!
  
  
• Congratulations PC Marching Hawks!
     The Prairie Central Marching Hawks received 2nd place in Parade, with Drum Majors and Percussion also receiving 2nd place. The Hawks looked and sounded great on their field show and placed 4th in Class B. In field show, the percussion and drum majors received 3rd place. Congratulations PC Marching Hawks!

     The Prairie Central Marching Hawks received 1st place in Parade, Crowd Pleaser in Field, and Best Percussion, Best Auxiliary, Best Winds and Best Drum Major in parade! Congratulations on a job well done to the PC Marching Hawks!
  
  
• NEW!!!! Swing Dance Classes Offered!
  Informational Flyer
     The Music Boosters are presenting swing dance classes, for beginners on up, for all ADULTS and STUDENTS who are interested in learning to swing dance! This is intended to be a low-pressure, fun atmosphere for all and we plan on having a GREAT time learning to dance. Music Boosters is organizing this not only to have fun and learn something new, but also to support the fine arts here at Prairie Central by getting more people out on the dance floor for the jazz show this spring!
     There are 6 lessons on Thursdays, all run from 8-9pm: Oct 22, 29; Nov 5, 12; Dec 3, 10. The cost is $40 for 1 adult, and $60 if you sign up with your dance partner. Students can join in for just $2 at the door, and Prairie Central band and choir students get in FREE!

• PC Marching Hawks Take FIRST PLACE at Pontiac!
     The Prairie Central Marching Hawks garnered a 1st place class AA finish at the Pontiac marching band competition on Saturday, September 26, and the percussion took home the class AA "Best Percussion" award! Congratulations to the marching band as they continue to work hard to polish the music and the drill for the rest of the 2009 competitions!
