Seeing Double

Not really!  Second grade students had fun coloring life size pictures of themselves   When parents came to Open House, they had to guess which desk belonged to their child by looking at the life size pictures of the students.  For some it was a challenge, but some parents guessed right away.

The students thought it was a fun activity trying to trick their parents.

Frog and Toad

After reading a Frog and Toad story from their reading books, students in Mrs. Frantz’s second grade class performed three different Frog and Toad Reader’s Theaters.  The plays were Frog and Toad Down Hill, Frog and Toad in the Garden, and Frog and Toad:  Ice Cream.   Each play had four students-two narrators, Frog, and Toad.  Students learned to project their voices and to use good expression.  After practicing  several times students performed for parents.

AG EXPO

On October 9, 2008 students in Mrs. Frantz’s class participated in the AG EXPO at the 4-H Park at Pontiac .  There were several sessions that the students attended.  Students learned about animals and their habitats,  prey and predators, tree and products from trees, and how to escape from a burning house.  It turned out to be a wonderful fall day and students had a great time learning about their environment.
