Prairie Central Upper Elementary
The Upper Elementary is located in Forrest, serves approximately 260-300 5th and 6th grade students from the Fairbury, Forrest, Chenoa and Chatsworth areas.
The Upper Elementary has six 5th grade and six 6th grade classrooms. Along with the school’s main office, there is a Media Center hosting one of two computer labs, a large gymnasium, cafeteria, music room, two art rooms, commons area and several other small instructional areas throughout the building.
Demonstrating long-term commitment to the highest quality of education, students, educators and families at Prairie Central Upper Elementary earned an Excellence Award for Exemplary Academic Performance on the Illinois Learning Standards for 2011 and 2012.

Fun Stuff at PCUE
You will meet many new friends here from other towns in the Prairie Central School District!
TGIF: Once a month (on a Friday), you can stay for an after-school party to play games, watch movies and eat snacks!
Assemblies: A quarterly “Hawk Pride” assembly (full of fun and games) is held to honor students for their attendance, good behavior and learned math facts. The assemblies are awesome!
Accelerated Reader: Students meeting their AR goal are rewarded with a field trip to Chicago in May. Those earning the reward may choose a Chicago Cubs baseball game or a visit to a Chicago museum!
Jobs: At the UE, you can apply for several school jobs such as library aide, flag raiser, music secretary, assembly crew and cafeteria worker.
Lockers: All students at the UE have a locker. This is so cool because you have a place to keep all your stuff!
